WORK EXPERIENCE

CARLSON SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT

Murn teaches Brand Management to MBA students at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management.  Murn's professional experience with large corporations, small businesses and entrepreneurs allows her to provide invaluable, real-world perspective to her students.  Murn dabbled in guest lecturing in Marketing and Entrepreneurship for the prior two years at Carlson, but after receiving consistent raving student reviews, she decided to teach her own class.  Murn loves helping develop the next generation of marketers and general managers. 

 

 

 

CAMERON'S COFFEE

As Vice President of Marketing at Cameron’s Coffee, Murn successfully rebranded the Cameron’s Coffee portfolio, started a marketing team and kicked off the brand’s first-ever Marketing support.  Murn’s brand development and packaging redesign on the Cameron’s brand led to distribution in major retailers like Target and Meijer.  Murn grew Cameron's loyal fan base through two key campaigns: the #BetterTasteLessWaste pledge and Coffee Works.  On top of her responsibilities in Marketing, Murn led Cameron’s product innovation launching over 300 products through concept development and execution.  Transforming Cameron's from a regional coffee roaster to a national coffee brand, Murn also helped pitch to secure the company's first private equity buyout.

PROCTER & GAMBLE

Before joining Cameron’s Coffee, Murn spent eight years at P&G, where she started Tide’s social sustainability program (Tide Loads of Hope), launched new Charmin Ultra Strong, and won the American Packaging Design Award for designing the Puffs blossom.  Additionally, Murn led the development of holistic campaigns including: Charmin Enjoy the Go, Tide Coldwater Saves Energy for the Holidays, Bounce Alternative Uses and Crest Whitening Expressions What's Your Catch Phrase?  Murn's Brand Management experience at P&G is the foundation for her best-in-class strategy, process development and analytic capabilities.  

EATON CORPORATION

At Eaton, Murn specialized in Media Relations and organized press events, managed direct media relationships and wrote news releases for the industrial manufacturer.  Murn regularly conducted media briefings, inquiries and pitches with local, trade and national media.  With intensive training in Crisis Communications, Murn learned to prepare executives and plant managers to proactively manage their reputation through critical situations.
